HOT SPRING

The waters of this hot spring are known for being good for the skin and relieving fatigue.
The Jozankei area offers a variety of facilities, from huge hotels that can accommodate large parties, to luxury, hideaway ryokans (Japanese-style inns) with a hot spring bath in each guestroom, and foot baths that can be easily accessed by those visiting on day trips from Sapporo.

ACTIVITY

Surrounded by a ravine and lush forests, Jozankei is also attractive in that a variety of activities can be enjoyed throughout the year.
One of the most popular activities is canoeing through the ravine to the sound of the birdsong and the murmuring of the stream. In autumn, gazing up at the golden leaves is a particularly breathtaking experience.
From spring through fall, hiking and fruit picking are popular; in winter, skiing can be enjoyed at the nearby skiing ground.

Jozankei's events

The seasonal events, too, are not to be missed.
In spring, hundreds of carp streamers “swim”
against the blooming cherry blossoms during the “Keiryu Koinobori” event. On summer nights, enjoy a mystical stroll amid the “Jozankei Nature Luminarie”, an outdoor illumination event held exclusively for overnight guests. In winter, Jozankei is decorated with the magical snow candles of the “Yukitouro” (snow candle way).
