 Kushiro, Shiretoko & Sapporo Course (5 days / 4 nights)
A Visit to Cities of Art & the Wonders of Nature

How about a moving and emotional journey weaving together the contrasts of art and nature? In this course, participants will visit Kushiro Marsh, Japan's largest wetland area, Shiretoko Peninsula, a candidate for world heritage status, mysterious Lake Mashu and other places of untouched natural beauty in eastern Hokkaido. Afterwards, you can savor urban culture in Sapporo at such locales as Moerenuma Park, designed by internationally recognized sculptor Isamu Noguchi and featuring gigantic art spaces.

Day 1 Kushiro Airport
Kushiro Airport > Kushiro Marsh (via train & walking) > Lake Akan
-Sightseeing in Kushiro Marsh (partly via train)
-At Lake Akan, guests will be welcomed with an Ainu cultural arts performance.
Tsuruga, an exclusive Japanese-style inn at Lake Akan Hot Springs
Day 2   Lake Mashu > Shiretoko (Summer:pleasure cruise around the Shiretoko Peninsula) > Abashiri
-Drift ice diving in Abashiri in winter
Hot spring inn in Utoro or accommodation in Abashiri
Day 3   Memanbetsu Airport > (via plane) New Chitose Airport > Lake Shikotsu > Sapporo
-Participants may either attend a party to enjoy night views of the area or local sporting events.
