Warm northern hospitality

About the Hokkaido Convention Promotion Committee

The Hokkaido Convention Promotion Committee was established in 1993 to publicize Hokkaido as a convention venue. The committee highlights the region’s outstanding characteristics as a convention location choice to academic societies, private enterprises and other organizers, both domestic and international, of such events.

The committee is made up of representatives from convention promotion organizations in the cities of Sapporo, Asahikawa, Hakodate, Kushiro and Kitami and the Hokkaido Government. Leveraging the warmth of northern hospitality, it helps to organize appealing conventions that will leave a lasting impression on attendees using know-how gained from the 2008 G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit and taking full advantage of its network of member institutions and related organizations.
